Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team, with a specific focus on Key Stage 4 (KS4). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons to GCSE students, supporting them to achieve their full potential and succeed in their examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons aligned with the GCSE curriculum.

Prepare students for GCSE English Language and Literature exams through targeted instruction and intervention.

Use a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

*

Monitor, assess, and report on students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.

*

Contribute to the development of schemes of work and assessment materials.

*

Support students with coursework, controlled assessments, and exam techniques.

*

Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and development.

*

Participate in departmental meetings, training, and school events.

*

Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.

Person Specification:

Essential:

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

*

Experience teaching English at KS4 level.

*

Strong knowledge of the GCSE English Language and Literature specifications.

*

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

*

Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.

*

Ability to inspire and motivate students.

Desirable:

*

Experience with data tracking and intervention strategies.

*

Familiarity with a range of exam boards (e.g. AQA, Edexcel).

Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and school initiatives
