About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver professional quality engineering support across the business, focusing on manufacturing quality control, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Liaise directly with customers and suppliers on quality-related issues.
Support manufacturing operations, identifying and reporting quality concerns and driving corrective actions.
Train operators in inspection techniques and use of measurement tools; prepare related work instructions.
Assist in managing the measurement and test equipment (M&TE) calibration system.
Set and verify adjustable gauges and inspection tools for operator use.
Translate customer quality requirements into detailed manufacturing and inspection instructions.
Conduct final inspections, prepare reports, and perform trend analysis.
Manage non-conformances and customer complaints using 8D and 5 Whys methodologies.
Compile and submit customer documentation packs, including FAIRs and inspection records.
Perform system, process, and supplier audits, reporting findings and recommending improvements.
Develop Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and LTQRS for specific customer projects.
Recommend and implement improvements to inspection and quality systems.
What You'll Need
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar manufacturing quality role.
Strong mechanical background with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
Practical experience in inspection methods, non-conformance management, and calibration systems.
Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with customers and suppliers.
Competent in Microsoft Office and general PC applications.
Completed Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
Preferred:
Experience programming or operating CMMs (Hexagon S Chrome, PC-DMIS).
PC-DMIS Level 2 certification or equivalent experience.
ISO 9001/9000 Auditor qualification.
Key Performance Indicators
No parts awaiting final inspection beyond 24 hours.
Completion of scheduled internal and supplier audits.

* Pension: 4% matched scheme (after probation)
