Head of Projects & Design – Power / Infrastructure / Energy | £70,000–£100,000 + Car + Bonus + Hybrid Working

Are you an experienced Project Leader or Strategic Operations Manager used to delivering complex engineering projects and ready to shape how a business scales?

This role sits at the intersection of project delivery, commercial performance, and technical oversight. You’ll lead a team of 10 (Project Managers, Design Engineers and Coordinators), and together, deliver £4-5 million worth of live projects at any one time.

These include critical power systems, modular installations, and energy infrastructure, though your background could just as easily be in marine, utilities, or building services.

What you’ll bring:

Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across projects and design

A background in engineering-led project environments such as power, energy, marine, or related sectors

Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing pace with control

Commercial awareness, understanding what impacts margin, delivery, and client trust

*

A process mindset, someone who spots inefficiencies and embeds better systems

*

Confidence to review and sign off technical work, even if you’re not on CAD yourself

*

Strong communication and emotional intelligence to influence, align, and mentor
