Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Director to take full strategic responsibility for the delivery of a major £100 million education construction project in South Wales.

This role sits at the top of the project leadership structure and will suit a Project Director with a strong background delivering large, complex projects for a Tier 1 main contractor. You will oversee the project from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring successful outcomes across programme, commercial performance, quality, health & safety and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Overall leadership and direction of a £100m+ education project

*

Full accountability for programme, budget, risk and project governance

*

Lead and mentor the senior project team, including Project Managers and Commercial leads

*

Act as the primary point of contact for the client, funders and key stakeholders

*

Ensure best practice in health & safety, quality assurance and sustainability

*

Drive value engineering, cost control and commercial strategy

*

Oversee design management, procurement strategy and supply chain performance

*

Report progress at board and senior leadership level

Candidate Requirements

*

Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Lead on large-scale construction projects (£50m+)

*

Strong background working for a Tier 1 or large regional main contractor

*

Experience delivering education, public sector or complex building projects

*

Excellent commercial awareness and contract management knowledge

*

Strong leadership, client-facing and decision-making skills

*

Relevant construction qualifications (Degree or equivalent)

*

Chartered status (MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS or similar) desirable
