Production Supervisor
White Cross Rubber Products Limited is a specialised rubber sheeting and rubber coated textiles manufacturer providing high performance products and services to a wide range of demanding customers and markets such, as Formula 1 and Defence, worldwide. We are looking for an energetic and capable production supervisor to join our close-knit team:
Production Supervisor - The role:
· The production supervisor is a key role in the company and must display strong leadership acting as a link between the shop floor and management.
· The role will be responsible for daily organisation and supervision of production activities and operatives ensuring excellent time keeping and shift utilisation
· The role will be responsible for delivering the daily and weekly production plan, ensuring that deadlines, output rates and quality targets are met.
· The role will also monitor the usage and deployment of raw and ancillary materials. whilst ensuring the factory is clean and tidy.
· The production supervisor will foster a positive working environment and act as the front line with any HR or disciplinary issues.
· The role will promote the correct usage of PPE, ensure safe working practices and be an advocate for respect and equality in the workplace.
· The role will lead the shop-floor training and development program.
· The role will be required to report any breakdown issues to engineering managing down time and changes to production plans accordingly.
· When production demands require it, a hands-on approach will be required.
· The production supervisor must be capable of taking a more analytical view of the operation in order to monitor and report activities against KPI’s.
· The role will be expected to be an active participant in continuous improvement initiatives working closely with senior management ensuring implementation and adoption on the shop floor
Production Supervisor - Experience and characteristics:
· Previous experience of supervising is essential.
· The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment is a definite advantage but candidates from other backgrounds will be considered.
· High levels of literacy, numeracy and IT proficiency are expected. The successful candidate must be able to analyse data/ information and write reports.
· Attainment of higher-level educational qualifications and/ or relevant industry qualifications is a definite advantage.
· Full training will be provided where necessary and whilst the candidate will be required to stand alone they will operate in a supportive structure.
Production Supervisor - Details:
This is a full time role based in Lancaster, UK working Mon-Thu 7.00-5.30 and Fri 8.00 – 1.00. The production supervisor is expected to support overtime working.
· Holidays are 24 days taken as a combination of fixed and flexible, plus bank holidays.
