SEND Learning Mentor – Partner School in Northamptonshire
Location: Northamptonshire
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time + Training Days
Contract: Permanent | Start Date: September 2025
Teaching Personnel are proud to be working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Northamptonshire to recruit a SEND Learning Mentor to join their Learning Support Team from September 2025.
This is a permanent role focused on supporting the attendance and classroom engagement of students with SEND, particularly those facing social, emotional and mental health challenges. The school has strong attendance figures in line with the national average, but is committed to ongoing improvement and inclusive support strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with identified SEND students to improve lesson attendance and punctuality
Support the re-engagement of students with learning, particularly those at risk of becoming disengaged
Liaise effectively with the Attendance Team, SEND Provision Lead, and teaching staff
Positively influence student attitudes through patience, resilience, and a proactive approach
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with SEND and/or SEMH students, or in roles such as Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, or LAC/Pupil Premium support
Knowledge of school attendance procedures is desirable
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Positive, calm, and professional approach to challenges
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:10am – 3:10pm
Friday: 8:10am – 4:00pm (to support with Homework Club)
32.5 hours per week | 39 weeks per year (term time + INSET days)
Includes a 40-minute unpaid daily break
