Responsibilities
Support individuals who have been out of work for extended periods by identifying and addressing employment barriers.
Provide exemplary case management, including support, advice, advocacy, and signposting to relevant services.
Develop and maintain action plans with job seekers, agreeing on activities that lead to sustained employment and personal development.
Deliver support using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) models.
Collaborate with local agencies, partners, employers, and colleagues to provide comprehensive support to individuals.
Manage a high volume or complex caseload, ensuring appropriate evidence is captured to support sustainable employment.
Motivate clients in their job search activities, developing realistic action plans and offering job search support courses.
Support local recruitment needs through job fairs, employer open days, outreach events, and redundancy projects.
Organize employment interviews and referrals for training as necessary to help individuals access sustainable employment.
Develop and deliver workshops on various topics, including CV preparation, interview techniques, and job clubs.
Maintain client files, track activity, and monitor client progress, ensuring accurate records and reporting.
Produce weekly reports on caseload and achievement of outcomes, maintaining audit material to substantiate reports.
Protect personal data in line with GDPR and other relevant legislation.
Meet performance targets and maintain industry knowledge to ensure clients receive the highest level of support.
Review and develop structures, procedures, and working methods to ensure efficient service delivery.
Support occasional out-of-hours working related to clients starting work and key employability events.
Person Specification
GCSE education A-C level in English & Maths or equivalent.
Appropriate professional qualification or willingness to work towards obtaining one.
Proven experience in a recruitment or employment advisory environment, supporting individuals to achieve employment goals.
Knowledge of the Welfare to Work benefits system.
Proficiency in using ICT packages, including Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, and understanding of databases.
Experience in organizing caseloads and achieving employment outcome targets.
Understanding of issues that create barriers to employment and methods to overcome them.
Knowledge of legislation and best practices, including information security and data protection.
Effective communication skills tailored to maintain engagement and progress clients into sustainable employment.
Ability to speak with confidence and accuracy, using appropriate vocabulary for various situations.
Ability to listen to clients, understand their needs, and respond clearly, even in complex situations.
