Overview
Education Personnel are working with a primary school in Allestree to recruit a long-term, full-time Teaching Assistant. This Teaching Assistant role offers consistency and stability, working within the same setting on a full-time basis and becoming part of the day-to-day running of the school.
The school is set within a well-maintained site that includes a dedicated support base, clearly organised classrooms, and a large outdoor space used for PE, interventions, and group activities. Support staff are assigned clear roles and timetables, allowing pupils to receive regular, predictable support. Teaching assistants work closely with class teachers and the wider support team and are involved in planning discussions and reviewing pupil progress. The school values reliability and clear communication and provides a structured environment where expectations are understood across the board.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide in-class support on a full-time, long-term basis
* Work with individuals and small groups to support learning outcomes
* Assist with lesson delivery, resources, and classroom organisation
* Support pupils with behaviour, focus, and routines
* Help monitor progress and share observations with teaching staff
* Support pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and structured activities
* Contribute to meetings, reviews, and whole-school activities
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
* Has experience working in a UK primary school
* Confident supporting pupils across the primary age range
* Consistent, organised, and dependable
* Comfortable following school systems and expectations
* Able to build effective working relationships with staff and pupils
