Job Purpose:
To provide a high-quality cleaning service at an Independent Living Scheme, ensuring all communal areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and shared spaces are kept clean, safe, and pleasant for residents.
Main Duties:
Clean all communal areas, including kitchens, bathrooms, lounges, and hallways.
Complete any extra or urgent cleaning tasks when required.
Respond quickly and positively to any cleaning feedback or requests.
Report any maintenance or repair issues to the site manager.
Carry out weekly water flushing checks in line with safety guidelines (Legionella control).
Assist with fire alarm testing and other simple checks as needed.
Operate and manage the on-site laundry service if required.
Keep cleaning supplies well-stocked by informing the manager when more are needed.
Report any site issues such as abandoned items or damage.
Help prepare guest rooms, including making beds and laundering sheets when necessary.
Be aware of residents' wellbeing and report any concerns to the manager.
Follow all health & safety and data protection rules on site.
Work well with other staff to ensure residents receive excellent service.
What You'll Need:
Previous cleaning experience (preferably in care homes or similar settings).
A positive, helpful attitude with good communication skills.
Ability to work alone and manage your own time.
Basic understanding of health & safety (including COSHH).
Willingness to do laundry duties if required.
Reliable travel to site.
Flexibility to work occasional extra hours if needed.
