Job Title: Chargehand/Foreman – Industrial Painter (Bridges)

Salary: £36,250
Our client are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Chargehand/Foreman – Industrial Painter (Bridges) to join their team. This role combines hands-on painting and blasting work with frontline supervision, making it ideal for a skilled tradesperson ready to take the next step into team leadership.
You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of bridge maintenance and painting works, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. In addition to your technical tasks, you will oversee a small team, coordinate workloads, and act as the point of contact for management and site supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and lead a team of industrial painters and support staff on site
* Coordinate daily tasks and ensure work is completed to required standards and deadlines
* Sign off completed works, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards
* Perform blasting and painting tasks in accordance with sector scheme standards
* Support installation and removal of bespoke access systems
* Carry out cyclic maintenance tasks as part of scheduled routines
* Operate bridge access systems (gantries)
* Actively participate in Rescue Team activities
* Liaise with site management and report progress or issues
* Ensure all team members comply with Health & Safety legislation and site rules
Required Skills & Experience
* Valid ICATS Applicator module card
* Valid ICATS Blasting/Spraying modules
* Proven experience in a supervisory or chargehand role within an industrial painting environment
* Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet tight deadlines
* Full UK driving licence
