The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in Wolverhampton area. We are looking for an experienced Class 1 Shunter to join the team on nights.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 19:00pm – 04:30am.

Location: Wolverhampton, WV4

Pay: £17.30 per hour PAYE

Job Type: Temp/ongoing

The role:

* Perform shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations – please note that drivers will be required to conduct duties between two other locations close by (WV14 & WV4)

* Safely maneuver vehicles in tight and busy spaces.

* Conduct pre and post operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.

* Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.

* Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.

* Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.

* Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.

* Assist with other yard duties as needed.

Requirements:

* Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C&E).

* 2 years’ experience required

* Tug experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided

* Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.

* No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).

* Full understanding of WTD legislation.

* Be prepared to undertake a short driving assessment for the position.

* Excellent communication skills.
