Roofing & Cladding Designer

Salary

£40,000 – £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Location

UK (office-based, with some flexibility depending on project requirements)

Overview

Our client is a well-established specialist contractor within the roofing and cladding sector. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Roofing & Cladding Designer to join their technical team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality design and construction drawings, supporting projects from pre-construction through to installation.

Key Responsibilities

Produce detailed roofing and cladding design drawings in line with project specifications

*

Develop technical solutions for roofing and façade systems

*

Interpret architectural and structural drawings

*

Prepare construction details, sections, and layouts

*

Liaise with internal teams, architects, engineers, and site teams

*

Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations and industry standards

*

Support design coordination and attend design meetings where required

*

Assist with design changes and value engineering during the project lifecycle

Required Experience & Skills

*

Proven experience as a Designer within roofing and cladding or façades

*

Strong knowledge of roofing and cladding systems and components

*

Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar design software)

*

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

*

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

*

Effective communication and teamwork skills

Desirable

*

Experience working for a specialist subcontractor

*

Knowledge of rainscreen cladding, composite panels, and architectural metalwork

*

Familiarity with BIM / Revit environments
