Job Title: Engineering and Maintenance Manager
Location: Cardiff
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: Circa £70,000 per annum + annual bonus scheme
About the Role
H9 Talent Solutions are looking for an experienced Engineering and Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance strategy and engineering function at a modern Energy Recovery Facility (ERF). This is a key leadership role responsible for maximising plant availability, minimising downtime, and ensuring full regulatory compliance through effective planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all maintenance operations. You will collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and other key stakeholders to drive operational excellence and maintain a safe, efficient, and productive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across the facility, ensuring maintenance schedules are current and effectively executed.
Maximise plant productivity while minimising unplanned outages and downtime.
Maintain compliance with all statutory regulations, including Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR).
Implement and manage maintenance strategies using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the engineering and maintenance team.
Manage contractors and third-party service providers to meet performance and safety KPIs.
Contribute to budget planning and maintain cost control across maintenance activities.
Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team, especially in a start-up or transition environment.
What We're Looking For
Extensive engineering experience in the process or power generation industry, ideally with hands-on knowledge of PSSR compliance.
Demonstrated experience implementing and managing corporate management systems.
Proficient in the use of Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Strong leadership and team development skills, with experience leading large or multidisciplinary teams.
Proven track record of upholding health, safety, and environmental standards.
Commercial awareness and experience managing maintenance budgets and cost controls.
Experience in contractor management and performance delivery.
Full UK driving licence.
