Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Fakenham
Salary: £35,000–£42,000

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a small, friendly company specialising in bespoke lifting equipment with an international client base. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of projects, work closely with clients, and contribute to the continuous improvement of innovative products.

The Role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Developing customised products based on customer requirements.
Creating overall design and assembly drawings.
Producing detailed manufacturing drawings for in-house or external production.
Generating BOMs for special projects and managing procurement as required.
Liaising with customers to ensure designs meet their needs.
Coordinating with the Workshop Supervisor to deliver projects on time.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of existing products. About You You will have:

A solid background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in mechanisms, fabricated assemblies, and sheet metalwork.
The ability to rapidly design customised variants from standard product ranges.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Skills & Experience
Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD or similar design software.
Proven ability to produce detailed manufacturing information accurately and on time.
Understanding of relevant machinery standards and legislation.
Experience working effectively as part of a small team.
