Job Title: Lead Systems Engineer

Job Description

An established and forward-thinking UK manufacturer is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to drive innovation in the design and integration of electrical, hydraulic, and control systems for its range of industrial machinery. This is a hands-on leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape technology strategy, mentor a skilled team, and contribute directly to the future of sustainable engineering within a growing business.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the Systems Engineering team and provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support

• Develop and implement system architecture and control strategies across product lines

• Contribute to product innovation, including electrification and automation initiatives

• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and commercial departments

• Oversee compliance, documentation, and testing for prototype and production systems

Skill Required

• Strong background in Electrical, Control, or Systems Engineering

• Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or similar), PLC programming, and CANbus communication

• Knowledge of BS EN ISO 13849-compliant safety systems and DFM principles

• Experience in a manufacturing or LEAN engineering environment
