Job Title: Deputy Pastoral Manager
Location: The Holden School, Leigh WN7 4SB
Salary: £24,500.00 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Tuesday 8.30am - 4.30pm, Monday & Wednesday to Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Pastoral Manager to join our close-knit team at The Holden School, part of Acorn Education.
About the Role
The Deputy Pastoral Manager is responsible for deputising in the absence of the Pastoral Manager and also for providing high-quality pastoral care and support to pupils. This role involves leading and coordinating pastoral initiatives, supporting the emotional, social, and personal development of students, and working closely with teaching staff and parents to ensure that the well-being of pupils is promoted effectively.
Responsibilities
Cover in the absence of the Pastoral Manager
Provide individual pastoral and behavioural support to pupils
Monitor the social, emotional and behavioural development of students within the school, liaising with the staff team and offering support where necessary
Receive, supervise and support pupils who are not ready for learning or who have barriers to learning.
Support the assessment of pupils to determine those in need of particular help and support.
Assist in the development and implementation of individual Education/ Behavioural/ Support/ Mentoring plans and behaviour management strategies.
Help to develop one to one mentoring sessions with pupils and provide support for distressed pupils.
Provide information and advice to enable pupils to make choices about their own learning, behaviour and attendance.
Support the challenge and motivation of pupils, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem.
Support pupils’ access to learning using appropriate strategies and resources.
To respond to pupils unable to access learning; ensuring a calm environment.
Qualifications Required
Grade C or above in Maths and English
Experience required
Must have experience of working with pupils with SEND
