If so, then our client is looking for Premises Officer to support them during this busy period to start ASAP. You will be part of the dedicated facilities team who are committed to ensuring the provision of first-class facilities and a safe, secure environment for students, staff and visitors.
Salary: £14.00 to £15.00 per hour
Location: South Croydon/Redhill Site
DBS: Ideally you will already hold a current DBS
Start: ASAP
Hours: 08:30 – 17:30
Overview of the post:
The Maintenance/Premises Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the college environment is safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors, the post holder is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the college buildings and grounds, the setup and support of events, and responding to general maintenance needs. Delivering outstanding customer service is central to this role, with a strong focus on service excellence in all duties carried out.
What your working week will look like:
* Support the general upkeep and presentation of college buildings and surrounding grounds.
* Carry out routine maintenance tasks to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
* Identify and promptly report any maintenance issues or required repairs to the Facilities Team.
* Inspect and maintain fixtures, fittings, and equipment in communal areas to ensure they are in good working order.
* Prepare rooms according to requested layouts, ensuring all setups are completed accurately and on time.
* Set up and dismantle furniture and equipment for college events, meetings, and other activities.
* Assist with the transportation and delivery of materials and supplies across the college as needed.
* Welcome and support students, staff, and visitors, providing friendly and professional assistance at all times.
* Offer clear directions and general information to help enhance the overall campus experience.
* Collect, deliver, and receive internal and external mail and parcels efficiently.
* Ensure refreshment stations and water supplies are well-stocked and replenished regularly.
* Carry out routine security checks to ensure college premises are safe and secure.
* Report any safety hazards, incidents, or concerns to the appropriate team members without delay.
* Provide additional support and carry out ad-hoc duties as required by the Facilities Team.
The successful candidate must have:
* Previous experience in a caretaker or similar facilities role
* Knowledge of security systems and devices
* Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation / regulations, and understanding of Safeguarding considerations linked to facilities, security and site management
* Good IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, and experience of using online systems and databases
* The ability to work on a variable shift pattern, (which will include occasional Saturdays, Bank Holidays and Sundays)
* A First Aid at Work Certificate (or willing to obtain)
* A Qualified driver with clean driving license certified to drive Group D1 Vehicles is advantageous but not essential
