A welcoming and supportive primary school in Lewisham is seeking an experienced and committed KS1 Teacher to teach a Year 2 class from April through to the end of the Summer term.
There will be a structured handover during the week commencing 23rd March, ahead of full teaching responsibility starting on Monday 13th April.
The role is initially offered on a supply basis, with the school reviewing staffing for September thereafter.
The class consists of 23 pupils and is supported by a dedicated Teaching Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and inclusive lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum
Assess, record and report on pupil progress
Prepare pupils effectively for end of KS1 expectations
Create a positive, well-managed classroom environment
Work collaboratively with the Teaching Assistant and wider staff team
Communicate effectively with parents and carers where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (Essential)
Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (Year 2 experience desirable)
Strong behaviour management skills
Good understanding of KS1 assessment and expectations
A proactive and flexible approach
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
