Are you an enthusiastic and experienced KS1 teacher looking to join a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive school community? This large primary school in West Hendon is seeking a Year 1 Class Teacher to start in January 2026 — a role offering both challenge and reward in equal measure.

About the School

Set within spacious grounds that nurture outdoor learning and play, this thriving primary school caters to pupils aged 2–11. The school is well-known for its warm, collaborative environment and commitment to providing high-quality education for all learners. Staff benefit from strong leadership, an open-door culture, and personalised CPD, ensuring every teacher feels valued and supported.

The Role

You’ll lead a friendly and well-supported Year 1 class of 28 pupils, including 10 children with additional needs (but no EHCPs). You’ll have the support of a dedicated classroom assistant and access to a floating TA shared across both Year 1 classes. A parallel class, led by a promising ECT, offers the chance for collaboration and shared planning.

This role is ideal for an experienced, reflective teacher with secure KS1 and EYFS knowledge, confident in delivering engaging lessons that meet every child’s needs.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver creative, inclusive lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence.

• Work closely with support staff to ensure progress for all pupils.

• Contribute to planning and assessment using robust unit overviews—no daily written marking required.

• Lead a curriculum subject area (Music, PE, or Computing preferred).

• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds QTS and strong experience in KS1.

• Demonstrates inclusive teaching practice and a nurturing approach.

• Is reflective, adaptable, and passionate about continuous improvement.

• Brings creativity, positivity, and a love of early learning to the classroom.

• Thrives in a team-oriented environment with shared success at its heart.

Why Join This School?

• Supportive senior leadership and a friendly, collaborative staff team.

• EAP access, induction programme, and ongoing professional growth.

• A strong focus on wellbeing and work-life balance.

• A school culture that values innovation, reflection, and joy in learning.
