CHP Service Engineer

Northeast (NE/York) – Regional role with UK travel

£44,000 to £49,500 + Overtime (OTE £65k) + Van

NEOS Engineering are partnered with a leading name in the energy sector, on the hunt for a switched-on, multi-skilled CHP Service Engineer to join their technical operations team covering the Northeast region. If you thrive on variety, autonomy and keeping the lights on (literally!), keep reading.

Key Responsibilities:

Day-to-day operation and maintenance of CHP plant and associated equipment — from pinpointing faults to fixing them sharpish.
Planned maintenance and fast-turnaround breakdown response to keep downtime to a minimum.
Act as the technical guru for Operations staff: guide them, train them, pass on the know-how to handle routine tasks, freeing you up for the big stuff.
Keep a tight rein on spare parts stock and avoid unnecessary spending by using in-house expertise wherever possible.
Own your patch: follow HSQE procedures religiously and use your initiative to flag, audit and improve where needed.
Stay flexible — the role involves travel, overnight stays and out-of-hours call-outs as per rota.
Stay in touch with the Engineering and Management team — no heroics when you’re unsure, just shout for support.

What We’re Looking For:

Strong background in electrical, heat and mechanical maintenance — ideally within CHP, peaker plants, PV or energy storage.
Practical experience with electric control systems (12V DC – 415V AC three-phase).
Confident fault-finder and fixer.
Recognised electrical qualification — or commitment to complete your 18th Edition during probation.
GasSafe accreditation — or ready to nail it within probation.
Full UK driving licence is a must.
Solid computer skills.
Self-motivated, organised, and a calm problem-solver with a flexible attitude to workload and travel.
