ABC Teachers are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Support Assistant to work within a school in Birmingham.
The Role:
We are looking for a patient, understanding, and resilient Behavioural Support Assistant to join a specialist school for pupils aged 4–11 with a variety of complex needs.
The successful applicant will work closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to help pupils manage their behaviour, develop emotional regulation skills, and engage fully in learning within a safe, structured setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide behavioural support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
Use a range of strategies to help pupils build self-regulation, resilience, and positive coping skills.
Support pupils during lessons to keep them focused, engaged, and safe.
Develop strong, supportive relationships with pupils to encourage participation and promote well-being.
Adapt learning approaches to suit individual needs and follow personalised learning plans.

About you:
To be considered for the Behaviour Support Assistant role, you will:
Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
