Active Travel England (ATE) is seeking a skilled Data Governance Manager to lead the development and implementation of ATE’s data governance framework. As a trusted data expert, you'll develop and embed governance policies, standards and processes in alignment with the Government’s Service Standard. You’ll also take the lead in building data literacy across the organisation, providing guidance and coaching to ensure all teams understand the value and responsibilities of good data management.
Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you’ll help establish strong data management capabilities at ATE, your work will minimise data risks, increase transparency and create a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.

* Drive adoption of data quality, master data, and modelling practices.
* Advise ATE’s Executive Committee on strategic data governance.
* Own data governance and mentor data owners and stewards.
* Enforce data governance policies, frameworks, and standards.

About you
The Data Governance Manager is a specialist role within the Digital, Data and Technology profession. At this working level will need to have the following experience:
* A strong background in data governance, data quality and compliance.
* The ability to translate strategy into practical frameworks and standards.
* Excellent communication and coaching skills to influence and empower colleagues.
* A passion for driving data maturity and accountability across a growing organisation.
Additional Information
The role is part of the Government Digital and Data (or Government Security Profession Career Framework) profession and utilises an enhanced Capability–Based Pay Framework which provides access to a Digital and Data allowance.
The base pay is £57,515. In addition to this the role includes a Digital and Data allowance of up to £25,543.
