Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional learning needs? We’re currently recruiting for an experienced TA to join a fantastic Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Redditch.

About the School

This welcoming SEN school provides a supportive, nurturing environment for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The staff are highly committed to helping every student reach their full potential through tailored learning and therapeutic support.

Responsibilities

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis with their academic, social, and emotional development.

*

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualised education plans (IEPs).

*

Assist with classroom management and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

*

Promote independence and life skills through creative and engaging activities.

*

Support students with personal care or physical needs where required.

*

Use effective communication with staff, parents, and external professionals.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

*

At least 6 months’ experience working with children in the UK (ideally within an educational or SEN setting).

*

A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

*

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

*

A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting children with additional needs.

*

A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.
