Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Lancaster

Salary: £43,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

About the Role

As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and performance of production equipment across both the factory. This is a hands-on, varied role where your skills will be fully utilised - reducing downtime, improving repair times, and enhancing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Key Responsibilities for the maintenance engineer:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and improvement activities.
Supporting and commissioning new equipment and projects.
Using CMMS systems to plan, record, and manage maintenance tasks.
Accurately reporting and documenting all maintenance activities.
Conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing long-term corrective actions.
Supporting operator cross-skilling (e.g., lubrication, inspections, changeovers, minor repairs).
Managing spare parts, conducting criticality and obsolescence reviews, and streamlining stock control.
Contributing to continuous improvement (CI) initiatives using tools such as 5S, TPM, Asset Management, and Kaizen.
Preparing weekly and monthly performance reports.
About the maintenance engineer:

A qualified Multiskilled Engineer, ideally with an electrical bias
Competent with fault finding, repair, and maintenance on electrical systems and controls.
Comfortable with basic mechanical tasks, including changing belts, bearings, and using hand tools.
Experienced in manufacturing or process environments, with a focus on reliability and safety.
Analytical, proactive, and motivated to drive continuous improvement.
