We are seeking a dedicated and driven production Lead Hand to join our clients leading FMCG manufacturing business in Nelson. As a Lead Hand, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations within Production / Blending, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and safely while maintaining high standards of quality.

Responsibilities

* Work closely with the blending manager, taking complete responsibility & ownership for delivering daily and weekly performance targets.

* Continuously work to improve the performance of people and plant to deliver site efficiency and performance standards.

* Provide ‘hands-on’ leadership to direct reports ensuring the process runs efficiently, providing support and encouragement in team problem solving at the earliest opportunity.

* Develop the understanding, urgency and motivation of your team members to maximise their own skills to become proactive and focussed on delivering expected individual and team performance results.

* Implementing Hygiene and Housekeeping standards/rules to ensure we are ‘Audit Ready’ at all times, ensuring all paperwork, quality and cleaning records are 100% accurate.

* Promote and support the company quality & safety standards, focusing on continuous improvement whilst contributing to the companies 4C’s strategy, and demonstrating the company values and behaviours.

Requirements

* Be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of automated Filling & Packaging equipment within a relevant FMCG environment.

* Minimum 2 years Leadership & People Management experience. Demonstrate the ability to develop and motivate direct reports ensuring maximum performance through use of all available resources

* Practical working knowledge of LEAN principles – Standard Work (SOPs), Visual Mgmt., 5s etc.

* Working knowledge of Quality, Safety & Environmental best practice

* Basic problem solving skills, 5 Whys, Fishbone, PDCA etc.

* SAP Trained

* IOSH/H&S

* Food hygiene trained

Hours and pay

£16.08 Per Hour / £35,118.72 per annum

42 hours per week average

Continental shift pattern (12 hour days & nights)
