Deputy Headteacher (SEN - Autism & SLCN) - Chiswick - Full Time, Permanent - April Start
This role is based at a specialist SEN provision in Chiswick supporting pupils from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 5. The school serves young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
The educational offer combines academic learning with practical life skills, delivered through an adapted and individualised approach. EHCP outcomes underpin planning and teaching, ensuring that learning pathways are purposeful, relevant, and tailored to each student's strengths and needs.

Working in close partnership with the Headteacher and leadership team, you will:
Champion high standards in teaching and learning across the school
Demonstrate and promote excellent classroom practice
Foster a professional culture built on high expectations and ongoing development
Oversee staff performance, wellbeing, and effective workload distribution
Promote positive behaviour, strong safeguarding practice, and inclusive values
Balance strategic leadership responsibilities with a visible, hands-on presenceDeputy Headteacher Specifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Significant leadership experience within an SEN environment
Practical experience supporting pupils with Autism and SLCN
A strong record of effective classroom teaching
Knowledge grounded in research about child development and learning
Ability to establish and maintain positive behaviour to support both academic and social progress
Demonstrated success in motivating and leading staff teams
Experience managing performance, addressing concerns, and organising staff deploymentDesirable:
Familiarity with CPOMS and Evidence for Learning systems
Understanding of curriculum design, assessment methods, and use of data
Experience leading coaching, mentoring, and professional development initiatives
Strategic mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
