Location: MoD Lyneham to Warminster (with travel between sites)
Job Role: Multi Skilled Operative
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent | 40 hours/week | Monday–Friday
On Call: 1 in 8 weeks (includes Saturday work: 8:00AM–12:30PM)
Salary: £34,000 per year + Van and Fuel Card + On Call Bonus

Mainstay Recruitment is hiring on behalf of our client for a Multi Skilled Operative to work across MOD domestic accommodation. This is a varied and hands-on role offering the chance to work independently on repairs, maintenance, and installation tasks. You'll be the go-to problem solver, ensuring homes are safe, functional, and comfortable for military families.

The Role:

You'll carry out a wide range of tasks including:

Plumbing repairs
Minor building works
Grounds and drainage maintenance
Plastering, tiling, decorating
General multi-trade dutiesYour focus will be on delivering both planned and reactive maintenance with a “Right First Time” approach. You’ll be expected to:

Work independently and take ownership of repairs
Maintain high safety and quality standards
Log work and material usage via electronic and paper systems
Provide excellent customer service and build trust with residents and stakeholders
Support a standby rota for out-of-hours emergency coverWhat We’re Looking For:

We're seeking a hands-on, adaptable professional with:

Proven experience in multi-trade work (domestic housing preferred)
A full UK driving licence
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
A flexible and reliable approach to changing work demands
A commitment to delivering great service and high standards of workmanshipWhat We Offer:
