Science Teacher/Tutor

Location: Silverstone

Salary: £24,420 - £39,300 per annum

Job Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday (Term time only)

Hours: 8:15-4:45

Are you experienced in working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Are you passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are working with an independent special school, catering for up to 40 pupils aged 11 to 19 with a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school is currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Education Support Worker to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver clear, high-quality science lessons that support pupils in making good or outstanding progress
Tailor teaching to meet the individual SEN needs of pupils
Assess pupil work and progress regularly, providing constructive feedback
Report on pupil progress in line with school policies
Manage behaviour positively and consistently following school policy
Participate in school events as required
Work across multiple school sites and outreach venues, including transporting pupils in your own vehicle when necessary

Adhere to school policies and professional codes of conduct
Inspire confidence and build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
Maintain confidentiality and report any concerns using appropriate procedures

Essential Criteria:

GCSE English and Maths grade C or equivalent
Recognised Teaching Qualification
Competent use of ICT for teaching and assessment
Trustworthy, dependable, and patient
Evidence of recent successful science teaching at class or group level
Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
High levels of tolerance and empathy

Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (can be arranged via Teaching Personnel)
Two most recent professional references covering the last 24 months
Overseas Police Check if applicable (for candidates who have lived outside the UK for 6+ months in the past 5 years)
