Shift Engineer
Location: Woodbridge
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent –

Working Hours: Monday – Friday Rotating shifts
Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum

Position 1 Recruitment is pleased to be partnering with a well-established food manufacturer to recruit a skilled Shift Engineer to join their team.

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out both electrical and mechanical fault-finding, minimising downtime, and supporting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the operation. Working closely with the Lead Engineer and production teams, you will also contribute to continuous improvement projects and assist with the installation of new machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct daily inspections of plant and equipment, liaising closely with production teams

* Perform electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs

* Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules

* Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery

* Maintain stock levels of spare parts and workshop tools

* Ensure all work complies with health & safety, quality, and food safety standards

About You

* Hold an electrical qualification or apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or above)

* Possess strong electrical and mechanical engineering skills, including PLC knowledge

* Have previous manufacturing engineering experience, ideally within food production (preferred but not essential)

* Be flexible and willing to travel between two nearby sites as required
