Location: Chester, Cheshire
Salary: £88.92 - £120 per day
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

About the Role:

Simply Education is seeking reliable, confident, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join a range of secondary schools in the Chester area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and looking to gain valuable classroom experience-whether you're exploring a future in teaching, returning to the sector, or looking for flexible work around other commitments.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences by delivering pre-prepared lessons and managing classroom behaviour effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
* Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects
* Maintain a positive, focused classroom environment
* Manage student behaviour in line with school policies
* Support students with questions about tasks and ensure they stay on track
* Report back to the regular class teacher on student progress and any concerns
* Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are upheld at all timesKey Skills & Qualities:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage behaviour effectively in a classroom setting
* Confidence to lead a class independently
* Adaptability and calm under pressure
* Friendly, professional, and approachable manner
* A genuine interest in supporting the education and development of young peopleEssential Requirements:

Right to work in the UK
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
* Availability for flexible or regular work
* Some experience working with young people (in school, youth work, coaching, etc.)Desirable:

Experience in a school environment
* A degree or relevant Level 3 qualification
