Are you passionate about education and committed to making a difference in the lives of young learners? GSL Education is seeking motivated and reliable Secondary Teaching Assistants to join supportive secondary schools across Barnsley. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in the academic and personal development of pupils at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one or small group support to help students stay engaged and meet their learning goals.

Assist teachers in delivering dynamic and inclusive lessons.

Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN), behavioural difficulties, or additional learning needs.

Help foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.

Encourage student confidence, independence, and active participation in lessons.

Supervise students during non-teaching times such as breaktimes and school activities.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with secondary-aged pupils in an educational or youth setting.

A strong understanding of SEN, Autism, ADHD, and behaviour management approaches is desirable.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

A calm, adaptable, and proactive attitude to supporting learning.

Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.

An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
