About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Sales & Tendering Engineer to join our growing team. This is a pivotal role supporting the full sales lifecycle — from initial enquiry and lead generation through to tendering, bid management, and project handover.
The ideal candidate will have a good technical understanding of heat pump systems, preferably including Combined Heat & Power (CHP), along with strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to building and converting business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare professional, competitive tender responses and quotations
* Engineer and cost conceptual heating and power solutions, with technical support from the Engineering team
* Lead and participate in site assessments and feasibility studies
* Follow up on leads, opportunities, and client enquiries in a timely, proactive manner
* Generate new business opportunities in consultation with the Head of Sales
* Maintain and update our CRM system (Pipedrive) daily, ensuring accurate records and pipeline visibility
* Monitor tender portals, identify new opportunities, and manage submissions through the bid process
* Produce high-quality proposals and presentations that clearly communicate the value of our brand, products, and services
* Support the development and delivery of marketing initiatives, including event coordination and brand management
* Provide regular sales and marketing reports and analysis
* Collaborate with internal teams and the wider Group bid teams to maximise bid success rates
* Contribute to continuous business development through professional, client-focused sales activity
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Solid technical knowledge of heat pumps
* Good general engineering understanding with an appropriate technical qualification
* Proven experience in bid & tender cost estimating and writing, with demonstrable success
* Proficiency with CRM tools and excellent MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
* Dynamic, enthusiastic, and professional sales approach
* Full UK driving licence
Preferred:
* Understanding of CHP systems
* Experience using Pipedrive CRM
* Strong social media skills, especially LinkedIn
* 2+ years working with heat pumps or in a technical sales environment
