We are recruiting on behalf of a global leader in connected safety solutions, supporting businesses that operate in hazardous and high-risk environments. Their technology is trusted across industries to protect workers through advanced monitoring and detection systems.
As part of their continued growth in the EMEA region, they are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join the team. This role offers the opportunity to work with life-saving technologies, combining on-site deployment, technical problem-solving, and customer support.
The travel for this role is 50 - 75%. When not travelling, this is a home-based position.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-level technical support to customers across the UK and Europe, including on-site visits and remote troubleshooting.
Conduct technical site assessments and plan deployments for safety systems and supporting infrastructure.
Install, configure, and commission wireless safety equipment and related components.
Provide training to partners and customers, both virtually and in-person, to ensure product understanding and proper usage.
Analyse technical issues, identify root causes, and collaborate with internal teams to drive long-term solutions.
Act as a key escalation point for complex support queries, particularly those involving hardware, connectivity, and integration challenges.
Support the rollout of new technologies and provide internal input on product performance and usability.
Work closely with engineering, product, sales, and customer success teams to ensure smooth project delivery and customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate records of support cases, troubleshooting steps, and solutions in internal systems.
Produce clear, professional documentation for both internal stakeholders and external clients.Candidate Profile:
At least 5 years' experience in a senior technical support, service engineering, or field-based technical role.
Strong communicator, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
Experience working in hazardous or regulated environments (e.g., oil & gas, energy, utilities, industrial safety).
Technically adept, with a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving.
Proficient with wireless communications, networking, and device configuration.
Skilled in using analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau) and confident with Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with APIs, data integration, and modern connectivity protocols.
Experience reading technical drawings, circuit diagrams, or troubleshooting electronics is advantageous.
Self-motivated, highly organised, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
Fluent in English; additional European languages such as French or Spanish are beneficial.
Must hold a valid passport and clean driving licence.What's on Offer:
Competitive salary between £35,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience).
