Non-Domestic Energy Assessor (Level 3/4)

A dynamic and rapidly growing compliance consultancy within the UK construction sector is seeking an experienced Level 3/4 Non-Domestic Energy Assessor (NDEA) to join their technical team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a forward-thinking company that supports a diverse range of clients, from major developers to small builders, in achieving their energy performance and sustainability goals.
Role Overview
As an NDEA, you’ll play a key role in conducting energy assessments for commercial buildings across the UK using SBEM and iSBEM. You’ll collect site data, produce accurate EPCs, and provide advisory reports in line with Part L regulations. The ideal candidate is not just technically proficient but also a confident communicator who can build trust with clients and deliver projects efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct Non-Domestic EPC assessments using iSBEM or DesignBuilder
* Gather detailed on-site data and produce compliant SBEM calculations
* Liaise with clients, project managers, and site teams to meet tight deadlines
* Complete and lodge EPCs via accreditation portals
* Maintain CPD and adhere to professional standards
* Achieve financial incentives by hitting performance targets
What We’re Looking For
* Accredited NDEA (Level 3 or 4) with valid membership to a recognised scheme
* Proven experience in on-site assessments and EPC production
* Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, particularly Part L
* Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly
* Ability to manage your own diary and site visits
* Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel
* Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Bonus Skills (Preferred but not Essential)
* OCDEA (SAP) accreditation
* Experience with thermal bridging calculations (2D/3D)
* Familiarity with IES VE, DesignBuilder, or PVSyst
* Knowledge of BREEAM or sustainability reporting
* Expertise in overheating assessments (Part O, TM59, TM52)
