Job Title: Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tower Hamlets, London
Job Type: Full-Time
Daily Rate: £95 – £120 per day
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025

About the Role:

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a highly respected independent school in Tower Hamlets, currently seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

This vibrant and inclusive school boasts amazing facilities, creating a positive and stimulating learning environment for both students and staff. You’ll be supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH, ensuring every child receives the tailored support they need to thrive.

Responsibilities:

Deliver 1:1 and group-based support for pupils with SEN needs

Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement and track Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCPs

Help create an inclusive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment

Support with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies

Foster strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

Adapt learning materials to suit individual needs and learning styles

Requirements:

Minimum 6 months of experience supporting children with SEN in an educational setting

A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to working with young people

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively

A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ) is desirable

Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection (training provided if needed)
