Robotics Engineer - ABB Specialist
Location: Bedfordshire (Site-based with travel)

My client is looking for:

A Robotics Engineer with hands-on ABB experience to join their growing automation projects team. This role focuses on the design, programming, and commissioning of ABB robotic systems using IRC5 controllers and RobotStudio. Ideal for someone with a solid background in automation and a passion for solving real-world industrial challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Program and simulate ABB robotic systems using RobotStudio

Commission, test, and support robotic cells on-site

Integrate robots with PLCs, vision systems, and automation equipment

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams

Produce and maintain technical documentation

Train and support clients/operators

Requirements:

3+ years' experience with ABB robots (IRC5, Rapid, RobotStudio)

Background in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Robotics Engineering

Able to interpret technical drawings and schematics

Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Comfortable with travel (approx. 70% site-based)

Nice to Have:

Experience with multi-robot cells or other platforms (KUKA, FANUC)

Familiarity with industrial comms protocols (ProfiNet, Ethernet/IP)
