Are you an experienced and qualified (or exam-qualified) accountant with a strong interest in inventory and operational finance? We’re partnering with a leading international business to find a Stock Accountant to join their high-performing finance team based in Basingstoke.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of financial reporting and stock-related accounting. You’ll work closely with supply chain, commercial, and operational teams to ensure inventory accuracy, strong financial controls, and continuous improvement of finance processes.

What you’ll be doing:

Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting across international entities
Supervise month-end close activities and maintain consistent compliance
Manage balance sheet reconciliations and contribute to the audit process
Maintain accurate inventory and stock accounting records, including valuation, reconciliations, and variance analysis
Partner with supply chain and operations to investigate stock discrepancies and support inventory accuracy
Provide insight into stock movements, write-offs, and costing implications
Identify and implement process improvements in inventory and wider finance operations
Support the Finance Manager and collaborate with other departments to improve efficiency
Mentor and support junior team members as needed
What we’re looking for:

Fully qualified or exam-qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
Solid technical accounting experience, particularly in inventory and month-end processes
Background in stock accounting, inventory control, or cost accounting
Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment
Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus
