The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading large main contractor based in Birmingham, working on a landmark high-rise, multi-room development valued up to £120 million.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Lead, you will play a key role in the commercial management and successful delivery of this major project, from procurement through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day commercial management of the project

Support the Commercial Lead in overall cost control and reporting

Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and appointment

Prepare and manage subcontractor valuations, payments, and final accounts

Administer variations, change control, and contractual correspondence

Produce accurate cost reports, forecasts, and cash flows

Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities

Work closely with the site and project management teams to ensure commercial objectives are met

Ensure compliance with company procedures and contractual requirements

About You

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor

Experience working on high-rise residential, multi-room, or large-scale mixed-use projects

Strong working knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT)

Confident managing complex subcontract packages

Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, and leadership skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
