My client a friendly, down-to-earth team of Accountants, Bookkeepers, and Payrollers based in Bordon, Hampshire. Since 2010, we’ve proudly supported a wide range of small and medium-sized businesses with experts.
The Role
As a Client Bookkeeper, you’ll be a trusted financial partner for a portfolio of small business clients. Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for clients across a range of industries
* Processing and reconciling bank transactions, primarily using Xero
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines
* Compiling quarter-end and year-end schedules for the accounting team
* Communicating directly with clients to gather information, resolve queries, and provide updates
* Collaborating closely with client managers and accountants to ensure accurate, timely reporting
* Maintaining high standards of accuracy, organisation, and documentation
* Supporting occasional ad hoc finance tasks within the wider team
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has previous experience working in a practice (preferred, not essential)
* Is confident juggling multiple client accounts in a fast-paced environment
* Is proficient in Xero and knows how to make the most of it
* Has an interest in expanding their skillset, including payroll (if not already experienced)
* Is highly organised, detail-focused, and deadline-driven
* Communicates clearly, professionally, and with a positive attitude
* May hold a relevant qualification such as AAT (part-qualified) or ICB—but this isn’t a deal-breaker
* Takes pride in producing high-quality, reliable work and providing exceptional client service
