Job Description: Health & Safety Advisor – Construction (UK)

Tier 1 main contractor with over 70 years of experience delivering major construction projects across the UK and Ireland. Portfolio spans residential, commercial, healthcare, and education sectors, with current landmark developments underway in London and Ealing.

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of our UK projects, ensuring full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and driving a proactive safety culture across our sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor site activities and ensure compliance with H&S legislation including CDM 2015 and RIDDOR.

*

Lead site inspections, audits, and incident investigations.

*

Develop and review safety documentation (RAMS, CPPs, lift plans).

*

Deliver toolbox talks and support behavioural safety initiatives.

*

Use H&S software for data collection, reporting, and compliance.

*

Liaise with subcontractors and assess their H&S performance.

*

Prepare H&S elements for prequalifications and tenders.

Requirements:

*

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a H&S role within UK construction.

*

Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and CDM regulations.

*

Professional qualification in occupational health & safety.

*

Skilled in audits, risk assessments, and incident analysis.

*

Effective communicator with strong reporting and IT skills.
