Adults Review Lead Social Worker - Mental Health

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of mental health social care in Manchester.

This temporary post is ahead of a planned transfer of Mental Health Social Workers to Manchester City Council as part of an ambitious Transformation Programme. Designed as a 'test of change', this role will support improvements in outcomes for people receiving commissioned care - particularly individuals in supported living and those eligible for support under Section 117 of the Mental Health Act.

You will work closely with the Performance and Governance Manager to provide quality assurance for commissioned care decisions, reduce delays, improve efficiencies in access to care and support, and explore innovative approaches to strengthen recovery journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading and undertaking Care Act reviews within mental health services

Providing quality assurance on commissioned care decisions

Supporting improved pathways for individuals in supported living

Working with brokerage and commissioning teams to ensure timely and appropriate care packages

Supporting Section 117 aftercare processes

Collaborating with housing providers and multi-agency partners

Contributing to service improvement as part of a wider transformation programme

Essential Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

Strong knowledge and experience of the Care Act

Significant experience completing statutory reviews

Experience working with brokerage teams and commissioning services

Understanding of relevant legal processes

Background in mental health social care

Desirable:

Previous experience in a management or leadership capacity

AMHP qualification or previous AMHP experience
