Design Engineer
Location: Bedford
Term: Permanent
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 per annum

We are currently working with a leading engineering company based in Bedford that is looking to expand its design team by hiring a Design Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects across multiple sectors.

The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

A degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar

Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

Experience with product development from concept through to manufacture

Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles

Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal, fabrication, and machining

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Excellent communication skillsThe Design Engineer role will involve:

Creating 3D models and detailed engineering drawings

Developing and improving existing products

Working closely with the wider engineering and production teams

Producing BOMs and supporting documentation

Ensuring designs meet customer and regulatory requirements

Participating in design reviews and project meetings
