Building Physics/Sustainability Consultant Lead

Location: London

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Plus DOE

An award-winning, London-based building services and sustainability consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Building Physics Engineer to lead their growing Building Physics team. This is a key leadership position within the practice, offering the opportunity to shape approach to sustainable design, energy modelling, and environmental performance.

Key responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of building physics and sustainability engineers.
Oversee energy modelling, thermal comfort analysis, daylighting, and environmental performance simulations.
Collaborate closely with architects, MEP engineers, and clients to develop integrated, low-carbon design solutions.
Drive innovation within the team, ensuring best practice and continuous improvement in modelling techniques and sustainability strategies.
Contribute to business development, project delivery, and strategic growth of the department.What we’re looking for:

Proven leadership experience within a building physics or environmental design team.
Strong technical background in building performance analysis (IES VE)
A deep understanding of UK building regulations, environmental standards, and sustainable design principles.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
A degree in Building Physics, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.Benefits:
