Secondary Teacher – Hathershaw College

Hathershaw College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Secondary Teacher to join our committed teaching team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality lessons, inspire students, and contribute positively to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the curriculum and school policies

Assess, monitor, and report on student progress

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development

Collaborate with colleagues to develop resources and strategies for effective teaching

Uphold the school’s professional standards and Health & Safety policies

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Proven experience teaching in a secondary school setting

Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills

Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students

DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain

Desirable Experience

Teaching across multiple key stages

Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Proficiency in lesson planning, assessment, and data tracking

Familiarity with digital tools and technology to enhance teaching and learning
