Site Engineer – Highways Scheme – Colchester

Rate: £300 – £400 per day
Duration: 6–7 months

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to work on a highways scheme based in Colchester. This is a 6–7 month contract offering a competitive daily rate, with an immediate or near-immediate start.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting out for highways works including roads, kerbs, drainage, and earthworks

Working from drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality

Checking line, level, and alignment of works on site

Managing and coordinating subcontractors

Producing as-built drawings and maintaining site records

Ensuring all works comply with health & safety and highways standards

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or infrastructure projects

Strong setting out skills using GPS / total station

Ability to read and interpret highways drawings

Valid CSCS card (essential)

SMSTS / SSSTS (desirable)

Full UK driving licence
