Branch Assistant – Northampton (NN3) – £25,397/yr

About the Role

We’re looking for a friendly, organised Branch Assistant to join our busy Northampton branch. You’ll be part of a well-established, supportive team, helping deliver great service to customers — both trade and retail — across our refrigeration & spares wholesale business.

Location: Northampton, NN3

Salary: £25,397 per year (plus holiday pay & benefits)

What You’ll Be Doing

Serve customers at the trade counter — in person, by phone, and by email.

Advise customers on products from our full portfolio so you can match the right part to their needs.

Handle picking, packing and preparing orders for customer collection or for delivery loading.

Maintain stock levels: monitor, receive deliveries, store and organise inventory — plus assist with regular stock-takes.

Deal with returns or warranty parts quickly and according to policy.

Keep the branch clean, tidy and organised — trade-counter area, warehouse stock, and customer zones.

Liaise professionally with customers, suppliers and colleagues to ensure orders, quotations, and customer queries are handled promptly and accurately.

What We’re Looking For

Good standard of education (GCSE level or equivalent), especially Maths and English.

Strong customer service skills and a “customer-first” attitude — you’ll be dealing with trade-clients, contractors, and retail customers.

Ability to multitask: handling phones, stock picking/packing, counter service, emails — sometimes under pressure and to deadlines.

Reliable, punctual, and a team player; able to work on your own initiative when required.

Previous experience in a warehouse, retail counter, parts-sales or similar role is advantageous, but not essential.
