We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join Vision for Education to work in a variety of specialist settings, including schools that support pupils with ASC, SEMH, PMLD, SLD and complex needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

The Role:

Plan and deliver tailored learning activities under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
Support individuals and small groups of children with diverse learning needs.
Assist in the assessment of pupils’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
Foster a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Liaise with teachers, parents and external agencies as needed.
Provide cover supervision across classes when required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience of working with children with a range of special educational needs.
Knowledge of strategies to support children with additional needs, including speech and language, ASD, ADHD, PLMD and SEMH.
Desirable SEN skills include:-

Experience with speech and language strategies.
Understanding of visual supports, such as PECS or Makaton.
Ability to adapt learning for children with ASD and ADHD.
Knowledge of sensory processing difficulties and suitable interventions.
Familiarity with strategies to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Skills in using assistive technology or communication aids.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children.
Requirements:

Right to work in the UK
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to do one via Vision for Education)
