We are seeking a proactive, dynamic, and experienced Finance Manager to oversee finance operations within a manufacturing facility.
Finance Manager
Skills, Experience, and education required:
* Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) (Desirable)
* Previous experience as a Finance Manager
* Proven experience in a manufacturing finance role (Desirable)
* Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management and manufacturing KPIs
* Experience preparing management accounts and budgets
* Good working knowledge of UK VAT and payroll
* Experience with ERP systems (Desirable)
Finance Manager
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Financial Control & Reporting
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow
* Manage budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
* Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with UK accounting standards
* Maintain robust financial controls and procedures
Manufacturing Finance & Costing
* Manage product costing, standard costing and margin analysis
* Monitor manufacturing variances (materials, labour, overheads) and investigate discrepancies
* Support operational teams with cost control, efficiency improvements and waste reduction
* Oversee inventory valuation, stock reconciliations and cycle counts
Cash Flow & Working Capital
* Manage cash flow forecasting and daily cash position
* Oversee credit control, accounts receivable and accounts payable
* Monitor working capital, including inventory levels and supplier payment terms
Payroll
* Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees
* Ensure payroll complies with UK PAYE, NIC, pension auto-enrolment, and statutory payments
* Maintain payroll records, including starters, leavers, pay changes, overtime, and bonuses
* Act as point of contact for payroll queries from employees
* Liaise with external payroll providers if applicable
Systems & Process Improvement
* Maintain and improve finance systems, including ERP or manufacturing accounting systems
* Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy and control
* Support implementation of new systems or reporting tools
Team Leadership
* Manage, develop and support the finance team
* Ensure workload is prioritised and deadlines are met
* Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement
