QTS SEN Tutor Wigan

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for experienced QTS Tutors to deliver 1:1 tuition in Wigan. This role is ideally suited to teachers with experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

We are a Teaching Agency dedicated to making a positive impact in young peoples lives by supporting their development and education. Our Childrens Education Team works closely with local authorities across the North-West to support vulnerable pupils currently outside of mainstream education.

Location: Within the community or pupils homes in Wigan

Position: SEN Tutor (QTS required)

Type of work: Contract

Start date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing support

Hours: Part-time, typically 8am - 4pm*

Pay: Minimum £25 per hour

Requirements
Right to work in the UK

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

Overseas Police Check (if applicable)

Two years of professional references

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential

Experience working within a SEN setting (preferred but not essential)

Further Information
The successful tutor will be patient, empathetic, and able to design and deliver tailored learning plans on a 1:1 basis. A therapeutic approach may be required to re-engage pupils with their learning. The aim is to provide structure, routine, and educational development, ultimately supporting the pupils reintegration into an educational setting.

Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor pupil progress, requiring weekly reports to track development.

* Tuition generally takes place during school hours. Sessions typically range between 14 hours daily or weekly.
