Emotional Support Worker - Newbury

We are working with a lovely specialist school in Newbury who support children and young people aged 6-19 with social, emotional and mental health needs. They are currently looking for an Emotional Support Worker to join their team ASAP on a full-time basis. The school is passionate about creating an inclusive culture that recognizes, celebrates and caters towards the individuality of their pupils. As an Emotional Support Worker, you will work closely with students, teachers and parents to assist in creating the opportunities that will enable students to flourish. Many of the students here have experienced early childhood trauma, have anxiety and other significant mental health needs, so this role can enable you to have a significant positive impact.
Key information for an Emotional Support Worker:
£85-100 a day depending on experience
Full-time hours, term time only
Hours - 08:30-15:00

NewburyKey responsibilities as an Emotional Support Worker:
Provide group and 1 to 1 support to children with social, emotional and mental health needs
Provide classroom assistance to our lovely teachers
Facilitate an inclusive and friendly environment
Assist students in understanding and regulating their emotions
Encourage and support children in achieving their best
Deliver specialized interventions that are catered towards the student's individual needsThe position of Emotional Support Worker is perfect for someone who:
Has the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Has experience working with children, but this is not essential
Has the ability to form trusting relationships with student and provide emotional safety
Has a positive attitude with a keen interest in supporting and academic, social and emotional development of the students
Is looking for an opportunity to develop a career in education or psychology
